Family involvement

There are many ways in which parents and extended families may become more involved with the life of the School community:

  • The Parents and Friends Association works tirelessly to raise money to develop resources for our students. They also organise social functions which further build community.
  • An important part of this fundraising is the Catering Committee which caters for any occasion – from weddings and funerals to conferences.
  • The St Joseph’s School Board meet each month to reflect on the direction of our school and make important decisions on finances and use of resources.
  • Classroom assistance. Many parents assist in the classroom. Some hear reading, others come in during the week to assist in specific lessons.
  • Working Bees are held when necessary for a general clean up or maintenance needs. Parents are given options of ways in which they may be able to help, but are encouraged to attend on the day.

Importantly, being a member of St Joseph’s community is about supporting each other through welcoming, sharing, forgiving and celebrating; it is our Christian challenge.
